ABOUT US
Magnolia Marine Transport Company (MMT), a wholly owned subsidiary of Ergon Inc., is based in Vicksburg, Mississippi, with satellite operations in Wood River, Illinois. Established in 1968 by Leslie Lampton Sr., MMT employs over 350 people serving both internal and external customers.
With a fleet of 28 towboats, including an ABS-classified vessel and over 100 tank barges, we move a variety of products throughout the Mississippi River system, most western rivers and the Gulf Intracoastal Canal from Panama City, Florida, to Corpus Christi, Texas. Primarily a transporter of black oil, we also transport residual oils cargoes including VGO, slurry, 6-oil and cat feed. Of the barges in our fleet, 85% are designed for transporting heated products such as asphalt. Additionally, we transport fuels, lube oils, naphtha, process oils and more.

For over 56 years, MMT has operated one of the largest inland waterways petroleum transportation fleets in the United States. With a clear mission and vision, we continue to expand and optimize operations to provide a quality experience for our customers and meet their demands. We provide administrative services from our offices in Vicksburg and Flowood, Mississippi, and Wood River, Illinois.
Vicksburg, Mississippi
Operational headquarters for MMT is in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Barge stripping, in-house maintenance and repair, and all aspects of operations are available at this location.
Flowood, Mississippi
The Sales & Marketing Department of MMT is located at the Ergon Inc. Mirror Lake Plaza facility in Flowood, Mississippi. Experienced staff provide personalized, quality service to meet product transportation needs and to provide up-to-date status reports on vessels in the fleet.

Wood River, Illinois
MMT’s Wood River, Illinois, facility is located at mile 198 on the Upper Mississippi River. This facility consists of a drive-on dock barge that provides office space for operations, maintenance and engineering personnel. In addition, this facility provides MMT with over 1,200 feet of a strategically located, secured mooring area that enables us to provide faster, seamless and superior service.

We follow a systematic program to retire older barges and vessels and replace them with newer units to ensure the safety of our employees and customers as well as the valuable cargo we carry.
